Jorge Soto-Andrade

 

is Full Professor at the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Science and Principal Researcher at the Centre of Advanced Research in Education of the University of Chile. He earned his Doctorat-ès-Sciences Mathématiques from the University of Paris XI in 1975 and is an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow since 1979. He is involved in research in Mathematics (Representation Theory), Systems Theory and Relational Biology (Autopoietic systems, Organisational Closure and Self-Reference) and Cognitive Science and Didactics of Mathematics (Learning, Metaphorisation and Enaction). He is author or co-author of approximately 60 papers and contributions to monographs in these fields.
