Raimundo Olfos

 

Is associated researcher at the Mathematics Department of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaiso. He is specialist in mathematic education, working in curriculum and evaluation. He contributes in postgraduate, undergraduate and in service teachers education. He is interested in the development of teacher understanding about the teaching of numbers, operations, and initial algebra. He obtained the Philosophy Doctor degree at the University of Wales, and a postdoctoral  specialization on Mathematical Thinking at the King´s College of the University of London. He devoted the last 10 years to the teacher development in math teaching throw Lesson Study in collaboration with the CRICED of the University of Tsukuba, Japan. The more cited contribution is the book “El enfoque de resolución de problemas en la enseñanza de la matemática a partir del estudio de clases”
