Ulrike Passe

 

is an Associate Professor of Architecture at Iowa State University (ISU), USA, teaching architectural design and building sciences and directs the Center for Building Energy Research. A Diplom - Ingenieur Architect (Technical University Berlin, Germany), she is a licensed architect and practiced for 15 years. Ulrike researches space as environmental technology. In 2009 she led the ISU US Department of Energy Solar Decathlon project, and from 2011-2016 the building science plank in the Iowa NSF EPSCoR project “Harnessing Energy in the Biosphere to Build Sustainable Energy Systems”. Collaboration with Dr. Francine Battaglia led to the 2015 book “Designing Spaces for Natural Ventilation: an Architect’s Guide, published by Routledge. She currently leads the interdisciplinary ISU team “Big data for sustainable cities decision making.”
