Elvira Popescu



is Associate Professor at the Computers and Information Technology Department, University of Craiova, Romania. She obtained her Ph.D. degree from the University of Technology of Compiègne, France and the University of Craiova, Romania (double degree). Her research interests include technology enhanced learning, adaptation and personalization in Web-based systems, learner modeling, Web 2.0 and social learning environments, learning analytics, intelligent and distributed computing. She authored and co-authored more than 70 publications, including a book, journal articles, book chapters and conference papers. She received several scholarships and participated in several national and international research projects. Dr. Popescu is actively involved in the research community by organizing a series of international workshops in the area of social and personal computing for e-learning (SPeL 2008- 2015), guest editing three journal special issues in the same area, co-editing six Springer proceedings volumes, serving as conference chair and PC chair for four conferences and as member of four journal editorial boards.
